The customer is a private German company for the installation and maintenance of industrial electrical equipment.
Challenge
It was necessary to develop a VR training simulator for maintenance staff of industrial electrical equipment. The simulator should be designed as a training program with interactive help and the ability to simulate emergency breakdowns. The equipment set for the outage simulation included 30 highly detailed electrical panels and other equipment.
Solution
Unreal Engine has developed a VR simulation of industrial electrical equipment maintenance. The simulator has more than 30 highly detailed electrical panels. The simulator implements with C++ and Blueprint the ability to simulate a random breakdown that needs to be identified and repaired using virtual tools. The 3d models were developed in Blender and Autodesk Inventor. The developed simulator supports all modern VR helmets including HTC, Sony, HP, Lenovo and others.
